Position Summary

The incumbent regulates and operates various numerically controlled machine tools used to carry out operations metal machining for the production of parts.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Operate one or more numerically controlled machines (milling machine, lathe, boring machine).
  • Read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
  • Carry out the setup.
  • Choose and assemble the required tools according to the list tools provided by the programming department.
  • Adjust the feeds and rotation speed if necessary.
  • Read and interpret work instructions and drawings techniques.
  • Check the conformity of products according to specifications requested using measuring instruments such as micrometer and vernier.

Desired qualifications

  • Diploma of professional studies (DEP) in machining techniques or training deemed equivalent or combination of at least 1 to 2 years experience relevant to the job.
  • Certificate of professional specialization (ASP) in control digital (CNC) (asset)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in center operation 3-4 axis machining.
  • Good three-dimensional perception.
  • Be familiar with machine codes (G-codes).
  • Knowledge of controllers (e.g.: Siemens, Mitsubishi or Fanuc…)
  • Experience in machining precision parts.
  • Experience in 5-axis machining (asset).
