Position Summary

The incumbent performs work related to the design of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using a computer workstation.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Operate design and drawing stations assisted by computer to develop and prepare sketches.
• Participate in the design of mechanical components and assemblies and electrical and other manufacturing accessories (e.g.: molds, tools, dies, templates, etc.)
• Make modifications and corrections to the drawings according to the specifications and requests of the engineering department or following a corrective action carried out on a part or particular component.
• Develop and prepare models and technical drawings engineering for metal parts and/or components.
• Design drawings based on: an existing part, concepts preliminary, sketches, engineering calculations, quotes and other data.
• Establish and update archiving systems for drawings and conservation of data relating to the activities of the department.
• Follow up on tasks and projects assigned to him.
• Participate in design reviews in collaboration with project managers.
• Perform all other job-related tasks.

Desired qualifications

• Diploma of professional studies (DEP) in industrial design or DEC in mechanical engineering technology.
• Have 3 years of experience in a similar position.
• Master functional dimensioning (geometric tolerances and adjustments).
• Good knowledge of the French and English languages ​​(orally and writing).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and Autocad software.
• Knowledge of machining, assembly and manufacturing processes (machining, steel stamping) (asset).
• Rigorous and methodical.
