Position Summary

Within a manufacturing company recognized for over 50 years for its expertise in research and development for the innovation of products and processes in different fields including

Mechanical or electrical power transmission, as well as manufacturing of specific tools or molding of plastic parts and metals or even the transformation of metal into sheet. His customers are automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or aerospace among others.

Tasks and responsibilities

The incumbent is responsible for planning, managing and coordination of various projects under his responsibility.

  • Communicate with clients and ensure that deliverables are conform to its requirements.
  • Manage the daily efforts required and expenses associated with tasks, deliverables and timelines of its projects. Coordinate the actions and meetings necessary for the progress of files entrusted to him.
  • Provide assistance or intervene through the different stages of completion of the project, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain standards (specific standards or drawings) for the products under its responsibility and ensure their updating internally and their distribution to the client.
  • Order studies on the properties and characteristics of materials and components.
  • Provide technical sales support and occasionally perform visits to customers or visits to exhibitions technical-commercial.
  • Ensure technological monitoring in order to provide visibility to the direction on business strategies for the future.
  • Analyze and develop, occasionally select estimates and technical-commercial proposals.
  • Identify irregularities and unforeseen events during the project and manage them with your teams.
  • Give technical advice on customer returns and complaints.
  • Participate in the investigation of failures and the establishment of diagnostics.
  • Carry out the writing and approval of reports.
  • Contribute to the cohesion of internal deliverables between sales, business development, production, planning, quality, accounting and management.
  • Carry out and present studies and tests relating to feasibility, design, operation and performance of new products.
  • Recommend measures to improve product reliability.
  • Perform all other job-related tasks.

Desired qualifications

  • BAC in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or experience equivalent.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a project manager in a manufacturing field.
  • Have solid experience and knowledge in one of the fields following: mechanical power transmission elements, machining and assembly processes, the transformation of metal into sheet, tool making and marked skills for project management.
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English, spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of the main computer software such as MS Office (SolidWorks an asset)
